We are back for Day 2 of the 7 Day Feel Good Blogging Challenge by Alex Beadon. Today’s challenge is to tell why we do what we do. The story about my passion. So here we goooooo. . . .

When I was a little girl I never in a million years thought I would be a makeup artist. I first grew to love the art when I was acting and modeling. I was so fascinated with all my makeup artist friends and their ability to be so creative with my face.

Then I became a mother of 2 beautiful kiddos and realized that 12 hour days on set, or at a location for a shoot was not idea for being Mama. I remembered my fascination with makeup and decided I wanted to dive into that and see where it would take me.

I started watching youtube beauty videos and became OBSESSED! I loved learning about all things makeup. So, I decided to further my training and got a job in cosmetics at Nordstrom and took a bunch of training classes. I learned so much and looooooved the people and the job, but that too was more hours than I wanted to spend away from my kids. Then, I decided to start freelancing. I wanted to be able to work from my home, choose how many hours I worked, and do something I loved. I remember sitting on the couch with my husband and saying “I want to start a makeup business.” I was actually nervous to what his response would be for some odd reason. But his face lit up and said “I think that’s a great idea!” All my life my wonderful parents had always taught me to follow my dreams no matter how big. (Hence, wanting to be an actress. . . go big or go home! haha)

I was soooo excited to start. I came up with a business plan and had all sorts of excel charts for costs and ideas. (It was cute.) I couldn’t wait to start something totally on my own and make something for myself! I cannot tell you how much fun it has been. I was so shocked at how fast I acquired business. I now work as an artist for the amazing cosmetic company NARS in-between my client appointments. I get to travel around teaching people about makeup and then mostly work with brides to make them feel beautiful on their wedding day. I’m so lucky to do what I do! Then, after a year of freelancing I decided I wanted to do MORE

My major in college had been theatre and film. I decided that what I would REALLY LOVE to do is make youtube videos (My Channel) and create a blog to intertwine my passions of beatifying faces and making films. Having the chance to teach people about inner and outer beauty, being an influence for good, doing what I love, and making money all at the same time would be a dream come true. One dream that I’m working hard to make come true today.

So there you have it! That is how I got to where I am now, and why I do what I do.  Please subscribe to my blog and my youtube channel if you would like to support my passion and keep up to date with all the fun things that I have in store! I can’t wait to see where this journey leads!

Love you all!

Happy Tuesday everyone! This new post is dedicated to MY dedication of being a better blogger. I’ve decided to do this 7 day blogging challenge to better my blog and better myself. If you’re interested in taking the challenge too, watch the video Here and then click her link in the description box. It’s going to be so much fun, so come join in!

Day 1 is about getting to know me with some simple questions, so here we go!

Question 1. Who are you?Fall2

Ah, the age old question. Well, that changes daily really, but here are a few facts about me. I am a mother of 2 and a wife of 1. I live in Utah and work as a makeup artist. I have many (probably too many) likes and hobbies. First and foremost, I love doing things with my family. From hiking in the mountains, going on vacations, to watching movies and playing at home. My passions outside of family life include makeup, fashion, acting, singing, food (cooking and eating,) decorating, and the list goes on and on. But those are some of my favorites.

Question 2. Why did you start blogging?

I started blogging so I could share my work with the world. About a year ago I started my own business of makeup artistry. I wanted to use my blog to show off my portfolio. Buuuuut, anyone who really knows me knows that I get bored fast. I have to constantly be trying something new and growing in all aspects of my life. Being stagnant is not my cup of tea. So, I decided I wanted to grow my website to showcase all the things that I love. (See list above in question 1.) I want to share all of the beautiful things in my life that I enjoy, and that I think others would enjoy as well. My main focus being makeup and fashion. I may throw a dash of other things in every once in a while just to spice it up a bit, and keep you on your toes!

Question 3.  Who is your blog for?

YOU! If you’re reading this I want to create great content for you. Now, I know that is extremely broad and not EVERYONE is going to want to read my blog. Nor will everyone be able to relate. My main focus is women and empowerment through beauty. Not in the shallow aspect of needing to be airbrushed perfect all the time. But in finding yourself beautiful no matter what.

With my line of work being makeup, my impressionable 5 year old daughter has grown to love makeup and wants to be just like mommy. For me the most important lesson I will ever teach her, and anyone else about makeup, and fashion, and beauty, is that while all of those things are fun, NOTHING is more important than inner beauty and loving yourself no matter what. I’ll be honest, I fully believe that wearing nice clothes and pretty makeup allows us to feel more beautiful. There is something about wearing an amazing pair of heels that makes a woman feel sexy. And I love helping boost people’s confidence. But I want us girls to know that underneath all that, we are beautiful and unique. “Different is beautiful, so be yourself.”

Question 4. What is something you’ve been working on that you’re REALLY proud of?

That would be my makeup artistry business. Over this past year I have been so incredibly blessed. I have met and worked with so many wonderful people, especially brides. Its such a privilege to be one of the first people to get to see the bride. I get to talk with her and make her excited about the incredible journey of marriage. I have the honor of making her feel special and beautiful. How lucky is that!? My business has grown so much in this past year and I’m so proud of what it has become!

Question 5. What’s the ONE MESSAGE that you hope people take away from your blog?

That the world is full of beauty everywhere you look and to find that beauty in all things. I want people to enjoy all the things that I find beautiful in my journey, and hope others will share theirs as well.

So there you have it! Day 1 is in the bag.

Now I have a challenge for you YOU! Leave a comment below telling me one thing that makes you beautiful. It can be anything! A talent you may have, a physical feature you love, a personality trait. . . I can’t wait to see your answers!

Make yourself a beautiful day, and I’ll see you tomorrow!

Its been a while since I’ve posted anything. I’m going to be really jumping into growing my blog and youtube this year, now that my life has settled down a bit. Moving was/is craziness! Now that we are getting a little bit put together, I feel like I can expand on other things in my life.

Soooooo to kick that off here is a little tester video where I was playing with lighting and getting used to my new setup. Its all about freshening up your makeup. Half the time I do a really simple makeup look in the morning, and then if I have something fun to do that night I just want to freshen it up a bit without re-doing every little thing! Here is how I do just that!

Hope you enjoy and make sure you sign up to follow my blog to see everything coming up! Also, subscribe to my youtube channel to see all the awesomeness coming up! Can’t wait for you all to see all the posts I have coming up! EEEKKK! Without further ado. . . .

Hello Beautiful People,

Wow, I haven’t added a new post in 4 months! Seriously that is NOT okay! But, at least I have a good excuse. . . we moved into a new house!!!! YAY! It was the biggest roller coaster ride of my entire life!  Now its so wonderful to be in our new, beautiful home. ANYWAY, I now have an amazing studio/office to work out of and I have been trying to build my website and business like CRAZY! Literally. I feel like I’m going crazy. But in the best way possible of course. So that is a little update as to why I have been MIA. I’ll be posting pictures of my in home studio soon because I love it and I want to share.

On top of moving I have been working a ton. Its been soooooo much fun! High school graduation just passed and I was so lucky to work on so many gorgeous, amazing young ladies who were getting their senior portraits done. I haven’t gotten all of the photos back, but here is a sneak peek at a couple of the sessions I’ve done.

Then summer hit and with summer brings wedding season! YIPPIE! I’ve been like a kid on Christmas! It has been so fun to work with so many beautiful brides. I’ve loved every second of making them feel like their most beautiful self on their special day. From engagement pictures, to bridals, to actual wedding day photos, here are some of the GORGEOUS women I’ve been lucky to work on their pretty hair and faces.

Not all of these galleries are up on my site yet, but you can check out some of them here.

I’ve also had the pleasure of working with some of my favorite photographers! Jacki Miller who is one of my best friends from high school and is oozing with talent everywhere. Click on her name to see her INCREDIBLE work! Not only does she take amazing pictures, she does custom (thats right custom) invitations. They are breathtaking!
